WaiBOP is offering to facilitate two-hour referee training sessions on Friday, 12 September, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at the Stadium (Theory) and Friday, 19 September, from 4.00pm to 6.00pm at Sherwin Park (Practical).

The sessions will be divided into two parts:

A two-hour theory component, covering the basic rules, referee expectations, and match-day procedures

Followed by a two-hour practical session on the field, where participants will have the opportunity to apply what they’ve learned in a hands-on environment

This session is ideal for those aged 11–15 who are interested in gaining confidence and experience as referees. Coaches are also welcome to attend and are encouraged to invite anyone who may be interested in supporting their teams in an officiating role.

Get ready for another thrilling round of Waikato Cup and Plate matches as our teams take the field with pride and purpose.

• Men’s Prems vs Northern United  The Stadium |  2:30 PM |  Saturday 30 August A high-stakes Cup clash—come support the lads as they chase glory!
• Division 3 vs Claudelands  Anchor Park |  12:30 PM |  Saturday 30 August Plate battle incoming—expect grit, goals, and great football.
• Ladies Plate Game: TA vs TA!  The Stadium |  11:00 AM |  Sunday 31 August This is the one to watch: our two women’s teams go head-to-head in a club-first Plate showdown. Pride, passion, and bragging rights are all on the line!
